  1. Written notice addressed to the OIMB prior to actual loading of every importation including details and/or accompanying documents related to the importation:
    1. Type and quantity of cargo;
    2. Estimated date of loading and arrival;
    3. Supplier of Cargo;
    4. Estimated FOB price, freight and insurance cost;
    5. Vessel particulars;
    6. Ports of loading and discharge
  2. Documents to be attached to the written notice
    1. Proforma Invoice
    2. Guaranteed specification of the product

Recyclable Materials containing Hazardous Chemicals (Importation/Exportation

  1. Official letter of request
  2. Duly notarized affidavit attesting to the truth, accuracy and genuineness of all information, documents and records contained and attached in the application form

Procedure for securing Import Clearance for Recyclable Materials Containing Hazardous Substances

Recyclable materials containing hazardous substances which are allowed for importation are scrap metals, solid plastic materials, electronic assemblies and scrap, use oil, lead acid batteries and fly ash. When all requirements are complied with the import clearance, registration shall be issued after the notification from the exporting countries have been received by the DENR.

  1. EMB Records Section receives consent/approval from transit countries and countries of destination
  2. Environmental Quality Division (EQD) screens and verifies documents
  3. Hazardous Waste Management Section evaluates and assess documents
  4. Chief, EQD conducts final review and gives recommendation
  5. Office of the Director approves/disapproves
  6. Hazardous Wastes Management Section releases registration/import clearance

  2. Evaluation of notice/ preparation of acknowledgment letter
  3. Review/ endorsement for approval of acknowledgment letter
